Bloodstained Ritual of the Night G Grade Beef
There's something to be said about a classic sidescrolling action-laced romp. The iconic Castlevaniahelped establish a style with its thrilling, enjoyable combat coupled with sprawling locales and exploration. Over three decades after the iconic NES game, series producer Koji Igarashi has revamped this Metroidvania with Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night.
Considered to be a spiritual successor, this action-platformer adheres to the core elements that made Castlevaniaso appealing, while adding some new twists and fleshing out the gameplay. One of the most fun and interesting inclusions is the range of unique weapons.
These are a key component to the game, as Miriam will be staving off countless hordes of baddies throughout her journey. Much like Simon Belmont, she'll be spending a great deal of time engaged in combat. With a game that so heavily stresses combat, obtaining strong weapons is crucial.
Here are some of the game's strongest weapons overall.
Updated January 15th, 2020 by Stephen LaGioia:There is no shortage of weapons to be had in Bloodstained - ranging from old-style muskets to Medieval broadswords. Given this vast array of weaponry - and the recent release of a retro-style "Classic Mode," it seemed like an ideal time to beef up this list with more details and even more powerful weapons for Miriam to wield.
15 Spiral Sword
You can say it's quite a grind using this weapon - literally. This deadly, spiked sword rotates like a sort of portable meat grinder when wielded. While its ATK stat stands at a seemingly small 13, the spinning spiked blade inflicts up tofour timesthe actual listed damage.
It can be crafted by Johannes, using 1 Flamberge, 1 Steel, and 1 Obsidian. It's also dropped by the Blood Grinder Knight.
14 Grand Izayoi
This elegant Katana requires the "Legendary Equipment/R" recipe book to craft, which is found in the Hall of Termination.
Its ATK initially sits at an already respectable 51, though it can be bumped up to a maximum of 58 by absorbing blood with the Conjure Shard "Blood Steal."
13 Adrasteia
While melee weapons tend to reign when it comes to raw damage output, this firearm certainly packs a punch with an ATK of 26. In fact, the Adrasteia boasts the most strength of any firearm in the entire game - outside of the level 3 variant of Renee's Requiem.
Another nifty and rather unique feature of this weapon is the ability to hone in on distant enemies, as the laser-like beam's trajectory will shift depending on their location.
The materials needed to craft this weapon are as follows - 1 Verethragna, 1 Orichalcum, and 1 Imbrued Skull.
12 Renee's Requiem
When it comes to Bloodstained's arsenal of guns, this beast can't be beaten. Though it doesn't boast any special moves or other quirks, its sheer, raw power makes it a solid choice for anyone looking to deal some hurt from a distance.
Upgrading Renee's Requiem to the 32-bit version (using a 32-bit Coin and 8-bit Nightmare) will make it a true powerhouse, with an ATK of 32.
11 Redbeast's Edge
This distinct rapier is one of the nostalgic-inducing 8-bit weapons, which can be obtained by using an 8-bit Coin. While the sword can also take on a 16-bit and 32-bit form, the 8-bit variant is the better version as it'll actually grow as the player acquires more Shards.
This will increase its attack power, capping off at a more-than-decent 52. The 16-bit version maylooka bit neater, but its ATK only reaches meager 36. It should be noted, however, that the 16 and 32-bit versionsdobegin with a higher base damage.
10 Mistilteinn
This majestic-looking club can be crafted with 1 Sharur, 1 Kaladanda, as well as 1 Imbrued Bone.
Described as a holy staff carved from a sacred tree, the Mistilteinn has a rather rich history and is fairly integral when it comes to the lore of Bloodstained. It had belonged to a Valland king before he retired in his burial mound with an array of wealth.
It should be no surprise, then, that the staff can dish out plenty of damage with its 52 attack power. It's also quite an expensive item, selling for a whopping 43,200G.
9 Joyeuse
This uniquely-designed melee weapon comes laced with a respectable 52 damage, and can be bought for the steep asking price of 43,200G.
Meaning "joyous," this mythical sword's history can be traced to France, as it was given to Charlemagne. Among its unique attributes is a shifting color, which changes a whopping thirty times per day.
This potent thrust weapon can be crafted with 1 Kazikli, 1 gold, 1 Orichalcum, and 1 Bixbite.
8 Bandit Blade
This blade is obtained from Lindsay by way of finishing the quest, "Avenge the death of Richter." It has a base ATK of 53 and deals Slash damage - and it can truly do some damage if all three strikes happen to connect.
This one-handed sword may look plain, but it does possess the handy ability to steal items from enemies - or has thechanceto, anyway. This can be initiated by performing the special forward-back-forward combo on enemies in battle.
7 Valkyrie Sword
This bright and shimmering sword can be found at the Towers of Twin Dragons. It resides in the Secret Chest, which can be accessed via Dimension Shift.
It's a 54-attack sword that inflicts Slash damage, and also comes laced with a hidden exclusive Technique - triggered with the down-down-attack command. This makes the already powerful Valkyrie evenmorepotent. The weapon itselfis also quite exclusive, as unearthing this chest is theonlyway to obtain it. It cannot be bought or crafted.
6 Dies Irae
This weapon means "Day of Wrath" in Latin - an appropriate tag for this beast of a sword. Its rather blunt official description perhaps sums it up best- "a greatsword that leads victims to their demise."
It comes with the Light, Dark, and Slash attributes, which enhance the already-powerful nature of this G-Sword. It has a strikingly high ATK of 57, which can deal out large amounts of damage. It can be crafted by Johannes - using 1 Durandal, 1 Crimsonite, and 1 Fiend Fang.
5 Blue Rose
This Medieval-style weapon is similar in appearance to the Valkyrie - minus the vibrant pale-blue finish. It also has some neat stained-glass flair that's meant to resemble the crystallized rose patterns on Miriam's skin.
Not only is this sword offensively potent at 58 ATK, but it also deals Slash and Ice damage when swung. In addition - the weapon shoots ice crystals in each direction, walloping foes with additional damage.
This sword can be crafted with 1 Florenberg, 1 Almace, 1 Caladolg, and 1 Imbrued Fang.
4 Durandal
The Durandal is a Greatsword that sports a distinct shard-like design. The name refers to the sword given to Roland, the chief of emperor Charlemagne's paladins.
It would be deadly enough as is - given its whopping 65 ATK, and it's even further enhanced by its available Technique known as Sickle Moon. Players will want to craft this weapon rather than buy it, as it comes with a steep price tag of 24,300G.
Crafting materials required include 1 Lohengrin, 1 Schedar, and 1 Steel Lightning.
3 Ukonvasara
The Ukonvasara is a melee weapon as robust as its convoluted name. This axe goes for a whopping 43,200G - and can be crafted with the help of Johannes and some similarly powerful weaponry. Materials required are 1 Dies Irae, 1 Steel Lightning, 1 Orichalcum, and 1 Cypress.
With a massive 67 ATK along with Slash and Thunder attributes, this large axe can truly be a death-dealer.
2 Rhava Velar
This lavish, majestic sword is ideal for those with a quick trigger finger - as it will slice and dice as fast as players can possibly spam the attack button.
And like the previous entry, the sword's insane speed will amplify its damage output, swiping four times for each button press. This, in fact, gives the Rhava the title of "highest DPS value" out of any weapon in the game.
It's crafted using 4 Rhava Bural, 1 Crimsonite, 1 imbrued Fang, and 4 Sharp Razor.
1 Eternal Blue
It takes a pretty epic sword to dwarf the previous entry in terms of sheer power. This Greatsword comes with an absurd ATK of84,andcomes laced with slash and Ice attributes. Mastering Sickle Moon and Trucidating Gyre will make this beast evenmoreeffective.
Naturally, buying it will cost an arm and a leg - specifically 43,200G. Yet, it can be crafted by Johannes too, using 1 Dies Irae, 2 Orichalcum, and 1 Imbrued Fang.
